As part of the automation and optimization of process workflows, a project for the automatic loading of a laser system was launched in 2023.
For the company Molex, we manufacture upper and lower shells for car telephony, where the lower shell receives a DataMatrix code to ensure traceability in the customer’s assembly line.
This code was laser-engraved using a laser cell that has been in operation since 2014. The parts were placed in batches of 10 into a fixture and positioned in the laser cell.
Since we produce over 1.7 million parts per year, all of these parts need to be laser-engraved with a DataMatrix code accordingly.
Together with the company Dreusicke, we designed an automated production cell with robots and a laser system.
After a delay of approximately 6 months, we can finally put the new system into operation.
